On February 14–15 in Beijing, China’s vice premier Liu He and US trade representative Robert Lighthizer prepared a memorandum of understanding to serve as a basis for an eventual trade agreement to be signed by the presidents of both countries. Both parties acknowledged progress in the talks, but no concrete results were mentioned. Talks resumed this week in Washington, DC.
