Yin-Wong Cheung (City University of Hong Kong): Recent economic developments in China

 

Abstract
Is the Chinese economic miracle over? What are the risks and implications of a maturing Chinese economy? To shed light on these questions, we consider in this policy and economic seminar some developments in China that can affect its growth path and economic prospect. Specifically, we overview issues related to a) economic reform and development strategy, b) population and labour, c) income inequality, d) debt, e) exchange rate policy and RMB internationalization, f) global implications…, etc.
