In 2021 BOFIT will be 30 years old. As part of the celebrations, the institute will have a new name. The old name was associated with previously socialist countries’ transition towards a more market-based system, but this transition is over. From the beginning of 2021 the institute’s name is, in three languages:
- Suomen Pankin nousevien talouksien tutkimuslaitos (BOFIT)
- Finlands Banks forskningsinstitut för tillväxtmarknader (BOFIT)
- Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT)
The new name corresponds to the focus of our monitoring and research activities. In addition, the familiar abbreviation BOFIT is now part of the name.
